LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD COMMUNITY FORUM RECAP                                                                                                                                                                      06/28/2017

Thank you for taking the time out to read this recap of the last month as well as the breakdown of upcoming events and initiatives discussed at the forums. Coming up on July 27th, 2017 is the next Let Your Voice Be Heard Community Forum and we wanted to wait to send this recap to maximize on the great upcoming events taking place this week and for August. Our recaps will begin to come out the Monday following the forums moving forward.

Our last Let Your Voice Be Heard Community Forum took place 06/28/2017 at Three Masks, Inc (1023 W Colonial Dr.). It centered around many topics including the youth crime rate, lack of innovative programs, city and county council updates, movements already in place in Central Florida and highlighted the Central Florida Community Care Fair that took place July 8th, 2017 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. That recap has been sent out along with all the updates, videos and photos from that event. We once again would like to thank our sponsors and partners for helping make it possible.

In the last Let Your Voice Be Heard Community Forum we discussed ways to build up our neighborhoods with innovative programs specifically for young adults and youth, but open to all. Ideas consisted of a youth entrepreneurial program that will mimic the adult version of entrepreneurial programs that provide curriculum and instructional sessions that will help a person learn more about the business world and how to cultivate an idea into a business. The result would also be a contest that can lead to the youth with the best business proposal being able to receive a small community-based grant. This would be one of the measures we take to prevent crime by building and investing into our youth.

We also had speakers such as Antwan Clark discuss options such as the midnight basketball programs being reimplemented into our neighborhoods. This consists of a gym or area for the youth to play at from approximately 9:00pm-12:00am on certain dates (usually Friday and Saturday) to provide a haven and constructive place for youth to occupy when school is out. This is something that Antwan Clark will be working on with the support of Let Your Voice Be Heard, Inc. and if anyone wants to help support this initiative, please email us.

This recap will feature a breakdown of the upcoming events and initiatives we will be rolling out soon including Youth After-school outreach, Hood 2 Hood Crisis Mentoring, upcoming community outreach events, upcoming workshops, upcoming community events and more. The next Let Your Voice Be Heard Community Forum will take place on Thursday, July 27th, 2017 at 7:00pm at Three Masks, Inc (1023 W. Colonial Dr. Orlando, FL). The forum will consist of topics such as: The 2nd Annual Stop the Violence Walk through Pine Hills, New Victim Advocacy programs such as Crime Survivors,  Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, Upcoming Youth Programs, Back to School Drives, Workshops, Community walks and neighborhood watch, City and Council Meetings, September Gun Awareness Month and guest speakers and MORE!
